What is the volume of bar of copper, object made of lead, and a bar of gold?

Posted by admin as Gold Bar

I need to know the following:
What is the volume of a bar of copper?
What is the volume of an object made of lead?
What is the mass of a bar of gold?

Would be great if you could help.
The mass of the bar of copper is 250g.
The volume of the lead is 5.2cm3.
The dimensions of the gold bar are 8cm by 60cm by 5.25cm.

we need to know more information than that. A bar of copper could be any sized bar. The mass of a bar of gold is dependent on its volume. What are the dimensions of the lead object?

These are all density problems (you answered the one about lead)

Copper has a density of 8.94 gr/cc

Gold has a density of 19.30 gr/cc

So for copper, 250 g / 8.94 g/cc = 27.96 cc

For the gold, 19.30 x 8 x 60 x 5.25 = 48,636 g or 48.636kg

  • Gold Bar

Of all the precious metals, the gold bar is the most popular as an investment. Investors generally buy gold bar as a hedge or safe haven against any economic, political, social, or currency-based crises. These crises include investment market declines, inflation, war, and social unrest. Investors also buy gold bars during times of a bull market in an attempt to gain financially.

At the end of 2006, it was estimated that all the gold ever mined totaled 158,000 tonnes. This can be represented by a cube with an edge length of just 20.2 meters.
